Hi! my name is Terry, as like many artist I love tattooing. A very old tattooist and good friend first introduced me to the art. Since then I have worked in various studios slowly absorbing information and knowledge. Unfortunately in many cases have learned all I can and moved on to soak up new and different styles of work and theory. As luck and sheer determination would have it I was offered an interview in Tattoo Uk. The oppression were very strong with some people putting in twice the time I had, it was worth a try. Knowing the reputation of Alan Dean things were not going to be easy.

When I got called back after two weeks for a second chat I could not believe my luck, I got the job but had to start at the bottom again. One of the main reasons I got the job was he was looking for someone who wanted to learn not some one who thought they knew it all. He was looking for some one who lived to tattoo not tattooed to live. This was the best thing that had ever happened to me, it changed my life. Alan’s a great guy to be around. Always dropping things in that would make no sense at all. But later down the line things this guy said months and months ago would drop into place.

Since being here my variety has broadened widely, constantly trying to conquer new and old styles of work. Especially I enjoy tribal, black and gray and every day stuff. Mixed into all of that the whole atmosphere of a great studio is a world within it’s own. When I first arrived at Alan’s studio my standard of work was high (or so I thought) very soon after starting I was struck with a realization watching the artist working it dawned on me. In comparison I could not tattoo no were near as good as I thought. These people were doing things I could never imagine possible. Soon after arriving I was taught a whole new way of inking.

Now I’m looking back I wondered how I ever got so far with the tools and knowledge I was using. Alan and Amanda are great influences and very good people to be around. There isn’t a day goes by since being here I haven’t learnt at least some thing every day. One thing I have learned every day you put off doing something you want you are taking another step away from what you want. Persistence and dam insanity is a real ingredient to push you to as far as you want.

But with out the right people to push you life stands still. Tattooing will always be a learning process to me. There is always a way forward.
