At Tattoo Uk’s Specialist Piercing Studio we follow strict clinical procedures to ensure that all our equipment, room and jewellery are clinically sterile.
All jewellery is bought new from suppliers in Great Britain and Europe who have a Certificate of Conformity to establish that all materials used in the manufacture meet the highest standards set by E.U. Directive No.94/27/EC.
When new jewellery is purchased it is personally checked by a member of our staff for quality before being Ultrasonically cleaned then placed in our Clinical Autoclave. When removed the items are guaranteed to be clinically sterile and are not opened until the piercing is about to be performed.
We always advise that initial piercings are done using Titanium Grade (Ti6AL-4V) or (Ti6AL-4V Eli) as these are the highest standards available. But you will still find implant stainless steel in great use as most first time piercings are done with unless requested other wise. Even now you may find you have trouble finding for instance a 6x18mm (BCR) Ball closure ring Titanium ring for a P.A. But you will have no trouble finding a stainless steel one. Titanium is used worldwide in the medical implant industry for the manufacture of items such as replacement heart valves, pacemakers and replacement body parts.
It is of up most importance that an initial piercing is made using not only the correct type of material but also the correct size and shape. At Tattoo Uk each piercing is made to perfectly fit the individual, we stock all sizes. All are welcome to call or just come and have a look around. We always advise that you shop around and ask questions, don’t just get a piercing because every one else has got one make your own mind up, do not give in to pier pressure.
All needles, swabs, razors, ink caps, etc. are disposable and all instruments are chemically sterilized, washed and then sealed in sterilization pouches before being placed in our clinical autoclave for a full sterilization cycle. Pouches remain unopened until the piercing is about to be preformed.
We cannot stress enough the importance of Sterility and Hygiene in the Tattoo and Body Piercing Industry. Do not be afraid to ask any questions in order to satisfy that everything that touches you is either brand new or clinically sterile. The best material for an initial piercing is Medical Implant Grade Titanium. We have a wide selection of jewellery in Low-Nickel Stainless Steel, which is fine for initial piercing, and Low-Nickel gold, which is also fine. Please be careful what you insert into your body.
