You will find
that new body jewellery is not sterile, unless supplied in a sealed airtight
package, marked as “Sterile”. Even so if you are not sure re-sterilize it,
it’s better to be safe. If you have purchased jewellery intending to be
pierced with, ensure that it is clinically sterilized before being inserted.
If you are unsure please come in and we will sterilize it for you. If your
new jewellery is for an established piercing then it should be thoroughly
cleaned and left to stand in sterilisation fluid, then all traces of the
fluid should be rinsed off with clean water before being inserted, any
doubts please contact us.
At TATTOO UK’s
Specialist Piercing studio we hold the complete range of sizes in a wide
range of Body jewellery to ensure that we have the perfect size for your
piercing as not every one likes the same size, and not every one is the same
size.
Everyone is an individual and everyone has slightly different skin types,
thickness, elasticity etc. So every piercing must be measured so that the
correct size jewellery can be selected. If you are going to have a piercing
have a good one, don’t always go for the cheapest, as it’s your body at the
end of the day.
One
size does not fit all!
You should never buy jewellery, intending to use it, if you do not know it
was manufactured using professional quality materials, always make sure that
it’s the correct gage and size for you, if you are not sure consult a
professional. We give free advice, feel free to come in and consult us at
any time.
I
cannot stipulate enough, if you buy cheap jewellery you could be heading for
problems before you even start. So please think about it before you do it.
TATTOO UK and some other establishments offer a free consultation and will
measure you for size and give further advice free of charge, so as I have
said before please feel free to come and see us at any time.
For further information on jewellery sizing feel free to ring us or come in
to discuss your needs, I am sure we can find what you need.
European Union Directive No 94/27EC
The latest European Directive relating to Body Piercing became law in the
U.K. on 20th July 2001.
This directive states that initial body piercing should not be preformed
using Grade 316L Stainless Steel or any other material containing more than
0.05% Nickel.
Additionally these materials should not be worn during the healing period (epithelization).
This is not only to protect the people (approx 5%) who have an allergy to
Nickel, but also to prevent Sensitization, where an allergy is developed
during the healing period.
