Piercing Aftercare

Always wash your hands thoroughly before cleaning a new piercing. The best way to clean your piercing is with a clean cotton bud, that way you do not come into direct contact with the fresh piercing, giving it less chance of cross contamination. Wash around the piercing site using solutions recommended by your piercer twice a day.

DO NOT pull, push, twist or move your new jewellery at all during the healing period. It is very easy to pass germs on to an open wound. On most piercing’s you will get a yellowy/white discharge this is completely normal but must be cleaned away. The piercing will go slightly red and let out a discharge, this is NOT a infection. If you are unsure in anyway then pop down so we can check the piercing.

Healed piercings do not require a great deal of care, other than normal cleaning during washing and bathing. This does not mean that you can just forget about an established piercing. For instance with a navel piercing you should make sure waist bands do not rub or pull on your piercing as it can cause irritation, so please be careful.

You should also make sure you remove the established piercing roughly every 3 months to clean thoroughly. If you have not previously removed your jewellery or are unsure about doing so, you are more than welcome to come down to one of our shops for our piercers to show you the correct procedure for removing and replacing jewellery as apart of our free aftercare service.
